London-based bar and restaurant group, Drake & Morgan – which operates seven design-led venues across the city – has welcomed three additions to its team. Gabi Clipp is now head of people, while Richard Underwood and Joe Belson have taken up roles at The Fable in Farringdon as general manager and bar manager respectively.
Gabi has been charged with heading up employment across the group’s portfolio, following similar roles at companies such as Nobu Restaurants, Ignite Group and D&D Restaurants. She will cover all aspects of employment within the group – from recruitment and training to management and payroll.
Gabi says: “Drake & Morgan has a great philosophy when it comes to staff; recruiting talented people from the offset, inspiring them during the day-to-day running of the business, and encouraging them to achieve their goals. I can’t wait to be part of their development.”
Following its opening in February, The Fable required a general manager confident with running a busy city venue. Richard’s previous experience as general manager and then operations manager at Novus Leisure – responsible for the seven businesses under the Lewis & Clarke segment – is set to prove invaluable in his new role.
Richard says: “Managing any bar in the city is a challenge, but I welcome it with open arms.”
The Fable – which is spread across three floors – is one of the Drake & Morgan’s largest operations. Joe has joined the venue as bar manager following a post at The Drift, another of the group’s venues. Joe will head up cocktail development and innovation.
Joe says: “I can’t wait to combine Drake & Morgan’s signature creativity with my own style to the brilliant concoctions being served up.”
