Two properties in the Elite Hotels portfolio – Tylney Hall Hotel in Hook, Hampshire, and The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne, East Sussex – have gained silver accreditation in the Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS).
Businesses that take part in the GTBS – a leading UK-based sustainable tourism certification scheme – are assessed by a qualified grading adviser against a rigorous set of criteria, covering a range of areas such as energy and water efficiency, waste management and biodiversity. Companies are ranked in three grades – gold, silver and bronze – and are assessed every two years to ensure standards are maintained.
Mark Robinson, GM at Tylney Hall Hotel, says: “We are delighted to have won the award. At Tylney Hall Hotel we are committed to sustainable tourism and minimising damage to the environment. We take pride in being a green tourist destination whilst retaining great customer service.”
