Ennismore has entered exclusive negotiations with KNSA Hospitality and P.V.V. Investments to open a 25hours Hotel in the harbour city of Trieste, influenced by south and central Europe and the east.
The partnership, which has strong support from the Trieste authorities, will come as the city’s first lifestyle hotel, offering a unique and authentic destination for locals and international visitors.
Owned by P.V.V. Investments S.R.L. – an affiliate of JP Immobilien – the newest home for 25hours will be the beautiful Palazzo Compartimentale, located in Piazza Vittorio Veneto. Ennismore is planning a wide variety of gastronomic offerings for the 160-room property, such as a restaurant opening onto the piazza, a bar and café, a wellness area on the roof terrace, a unique cinema as well as meeting and event rooms. In addition – a first for the brand – there will be a 25hours Beachclub at the harbour.
25hours Trieste is set to open in 2025 following extensive renovations, which have begun on the façade of the building. The development will also be home to luxury residences and a variety of small local stores on the ground floor.
Originally built in 1895 by Raimondo Sagors for the Austrian Lloyd Employee Pension Institute, it has since been used by the Austrian Railways, the consulates of Argentina, Norway and Portugal, and a Red Cross Emergency room.
The hotel – like all 25hours Hotels – will be individual and made-to-measure. Each 25hours Hotel has a soul inspired by its location and is shaped by its surroundings’ art, culture, gastronomy, and stories. 25hours Trieste will be the brand’s second hotel in Italy, following the opening of Florence in 2021. 25hours currently has 14 operating hotels across Europe and the Middle East, with 4 in the pipeline, including Copenhagen opening later in 2022.
“We’re so excited that 25hours will bring a fresh hospitality approach to Trieste. With its rich culture and history, Trieste will serve as the perfect location for one of our uniquely designed 25hours Hotels, which will take its inspiration from the history of the city as gateway to the world,” says Cédric Gobilliard, Brand COO of Ennismore. “The lifestyle segment of the hospitality industry is seeing strong growth and is bouncing back quicker, thanks to its strong F&B offering.”
