With an opening planned in early 2016, London-based design practice Areen Hospitality continues to work closely with Lagos-based DAA Architects on the interior design for the 150-room ‘Four Points by Sheraton’ hotel in Ibadan, the third largest metropolitan area in Nigeria. It will be the city’s first internationally branded hotel and will become the focal point for doing business in the city.
Areen’s design will create a contemporary business and leisure accommodation package that supports the growing aspirations of the area. The 150 key property will feature a state-of-the-art business and conference centre, alongside innovative restaurants and bars, plus leisure amenities which include a luxury health club and pool.
Areen Hospitality is also working on all the interiors of the ‘Hilton Freetown Cape Sierra’ , a resort and business hotel located in Freetown in Sierra Leone. Work has commenced onsite and the new hotel will provide 200 rooms, including 20 suites as well as featuring a business centre, health club, outdoor pool and five restaurants and bars.
Andrew Linwood, Head of Design, Areen Hospitality, comments: “The African continent is in need of more hotels and we intend to play our part, working closely with local partners such as DAA, in meeting this demand. Our creative flair, coupled with a knowledge of what the operators want from their interiors, is proving a winning formula.”
