Aaron Vure, a BA(Hons) Interior Design student at the University of Huddersfield, has won the New Designers IDA Panaz Award, which comes with a six-month paid placement at RPW Design. The award was announced at Part 2 of the New Designers 2013 show, during which the UK’s best emerging designers gathered to display their talent.
The judging panel, made up of Jan Wilson, MD of RPW Design and Charles Leon, MD at Charles Leon Associates, among others, agreed that Aaron’s work, titled “Signature”, demonstrated commercial awareness and excellent presentation skills.
The aspiring designer will start his placement at RPW Design in the near future, and will be mentored by Jan Wilson, one of the most renowned interior designers in international hospitality.
“Aaron showed clear ability and professionalism in his final year presentation, as well as the passion for interior design that is essential to success,” says Jan. “We are delighted that he will be joining us at the start of his career in our industry.”
“Winning this award will give exposure to my work and skills and allow industry experts to recognise that I am a particular level of designer,” says Aaron. “All round it is great that people backed and most importantly understood how my design works and how it can work commercially. I appreciate this award for the confidence it will give me for the future.”
The New Designers awards, which are presented in partnership with leading brands and organisations, recognise the design world’s rising stars, offering winners and runners-up vital support as they embark upon professional careers.
