Yorkshire-based Harris Construction Management Interiors (HCM Interiors) has won a contract to fit out a new dining experience for Burger & Lobster on the fifth floor of Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge, London. The £1m refurbishment programme will see high-end fixtures and fittings integrated into the venue, which is due to open before the end of the year.
In addition to the contract win, HCM Interiors has completed the construction of the UK’s largest lobster tank for Russian-owned group, Goodman Restaurants, which owns London-based up-market eateries Burger & Lobster, Goodman Steak House and the newly-launched Steak & Crab.
The 950ft² lobster tank is currently located at Heathrow airport while the lobsters are flown into the UK from Canada before being transported to Burger & Lobster’s London restaurants situated in Mayfair, Soho, Farringdon and opposite St Paul’s Cathedral.
Jason Beedle, MD at HCM Interiors says: “The concept at Burger & Lobster is simple – you either order a burger or a lobster. As a result, the restaurant’s lobsters have to be of an exceptional standard, and the best way to maintain their quality is to keep them alive in a large and well filtrated tank. This is a totally unique project for HCM Interiors, proving that we are able to find innovative solutions to meet our clients’ needs.”
