January Furniture Show 2020 is set to excel in its greencredentials by being the greenest JFS yet – reusing materials, reducing waste and recycling where possible.
The aim for 2020 is to increase the recycling rate to over 80% – up from the rate of 76.4% achieved in 2019.
New greeninitiatives include: reusing the signage and graphics from this year’s show, lanyards and visitor badges will be collected at all exits – the paper will be recycled and the lanyards and badge holders reused.
Technology will help to reduce the amount of paper – more show related documents will be available on the JFS website and the press stand will include a touchpoint for all trade magazines.
The cafes will offer a discount to those using their own cups, and water refill stations will be located in every hall reducing single plastic bottle use. There will be plenty of recycling stations for paper, plastics, cardboard and cans.
The hall carpets are one of the most notable transient things at a show – they are re-cyclable and the fabric and base materials will be made into other products.
The January Furniture Show runs from 19th-22nd January at Birmingham’s NEC
