Spanish designer and manufacturer of fine outdoor furnishings, Kettal, now has a newly-refurbished head office in downtown Barcelona.
The new office, on the first floor of an early-20th-century building in Barcelona’s Eixample district, is a bright space full of natural light that floods in through huge windows. It features two small gardens painted in warm colours, and a terrace with low plants that provide a natural setting.
The idea was to create a warm work area with comfortable lounge areas, meeting rooms and a kitchen, keeping the original Catalan arch bare-brick ceilings in the main rooms.
Two separate areas were designed by Kettal’s design department, one explicitly for work and the other a splace in which to relax, featuring a lounge, kitchen and terrace.
Oak, a mix of flooring and recycled-fibre carpet, along with furniture and lighting by Vitra are combined with the firm’s own furniture.
