Following the success of his award-winning Milan show, ‘The Department Store’, Lee Broom will present his new 25 piece collection for the first time in London at Electra House, his Shoreditch flagship store.
Furniture and lighting will be presented in large glass display cases and on Carrara marble plinths, referencing materials used in his collections. Finished in Lee Broom signature grey, the store will be a celebration of new and existing work, all of which will be available for sale.
To celebrate the launch of the newly design store and The London Design Festival, Lee Broom will also be launching a capsule collection of accessories including ‘Podium’ a range of Vases available to purchase exclusively through Lee Broom in the Shoreditch store and internationally.
This is Brooms first collection of vases and continues the aesthetic from the Department Store playing with the sculptural quality of balance and asymmetric silhouettes. Combining heavy weight marble with transparent glass, the collection continues his fascination with opposing materials brought together to create playful yet elegant pieces.
Electra House is the East London headquarters of Lee Broom where his flagship store interconnects with his design studio. The newly designed store, which first opened in September 2013, will be a permanent exhibition of the full Lee Broom range of lighting, furniture and accessories.
“This September marks two years since we opened our store in London,” says Lee. “Following the success of The Department Store exhibition in Milan this year, I wanted to show the new collection at Electra House in a re-designed environment. 2015 has been a great year for us with our Milan show and receiving the Queen’s Award. Introducing the new collection in London, gives us the opportunity to expand our unique retail space and curate an exciting new installation with these 25 pieces at the heart of the store.”
