The Nespresso On Ice Gourmet Menu showcases how coffee can be used to invigorate the fine dining experience, providing consumers with a new and interesting way to enjoy Nespresso during the daytime, as well as in the evening.
Available for a limited time only at Bibendum, the bespoke menu has been created in response to changing behaviour within the fine dining scene. With more and more consumers looking for good lunchtime menus, Nespresso is working closely with chefs to show the role that coffee can play in fine dining and dispel the myth that it is something which can only be enjoyed after an evening meal.
Offering sumptuous summer flavours including a jersey royal salad with smoked Nespresso Ristretto hollandaise, brown butter Nespresso Origin India mayonnaise lobster rolls and a veal and shrimp steamed bun, the menu helps to show the versatility of coffee and how haute coffee cuisine can elevate the tasting experience and add an additional layer of complexity. To finish, there is soft serve apple tarte tatin in a cone, as well as Nespresso Iced Coffee, in celebration of the launch of the Nespresso new limited-edition iced coffee collection.
The new menu was launched this week at an exclusive event at Bibendum, bringing together almost 30 Bib Gourmand and Michelin chefs from across the industry. The launch not only provided an opportunity for guests to try the new menu, but also to sample the Nespresso Exclusive Selection. Designed specifically for high gastronomy, these two rare Origin coffees provide consumers with an exclusive tasting experience and are available only at Michelin starred restaurants.
A sustainability station at the event helped to tell Nespresso’s sustainability story and highlight its brand promise to provide the highest quality coffee from cherry to cup. Through a display of coffee plants and images of the farmers who grow them, it showed how sustainability is at the heart of the business strategy – from sourcing of the beans and training farmers, to its consumption model and recycling commitments.
Commenting on the new menu, Claude Bosi, Head Chef at Bibendum, said: “The summer-inspired menu features refreshing dishes and aromas to provide guests with a chilled palate, with a twist, alongside a Nespresso iced coffee.
“Available throughout July, we hope guests enjoy something a little different this summer.”
Managing Director Francisco Nogueira, from Nespresso UK and Ireland, added: “We are thrilled to be collaborating once more with the critically-acclaimed, Claude Bosi, to launch an innovative new tasting menu. We believe there are lots of ways consumers can enjoy Nespresso, including in the evening after dinner or a Nespresso iced coffee at lunchtime – and we are working closely with chefs to help them elevate the fine dining experience by broadening the use of coffee on their menus.
“In partnership with Claude, we hope to take guests at Bibendum on a unique, gastronomical experience served with Nespresso on Ice.”
The menu will be available downstairs in the Oyster Bar between the 9th-31st July 2018. For more details on Nespresso, please visit: nespresso.com/pro
