NEWH UK will hold its much-revered Round Table and Annual Fundraiser events on Thursday 24th October at Sea Containers Hotel, Southbank.
The NEWH UK Round Table event serves as a dynamic platform for hospitality professionals to converge, share insights, and foster innovation. This year’s Round Table hosts include Chris Turner from Chris Turner Procurement, Libby Bull from Roam Interior Design, Massimo Barbera from Lupoi Design Studio, Arun Rana from Accor Hotels, Carolynne Shenton from Studio Mica, Stefano Squecco from St James Hotel & Club, and Sam Hall from IHG. Hosts will switch tables throughout the afternoon, so everyone gets an opportunity to ask questions and share ideas. Tickets are available at a reduced price of £75 to members and £90 for non-members; the event starts at 3.30pm prompt.
Kathryn Quinn, President of the NEWH UK Chapter said, “With scholarship, education and business networking at the forefront of everything we do, the NEWH Annual Roundtable event provides an opportunity for every facet of the hospitality industry to come together. Industry leaders in hotel brand, operations, design, hospitality management, manufacture and education meet for a series of discussions on the latest advancements and challenges in the hospitality industry. They leave inspired, having made meaningful connections.”
The Annual Fundraiser takes place later that evening starting at 6.30pm. This year marks the first hotel management scholarship to be awarded by NEWH UK, alongside their three customary scholarships awarded to students studying interior design.
Judges for the hotel management scholarship were Andrew Henning, Area Managing Director for Highgate London and General Manager at Grosvenor House Suites in Mayfair, Anne Golden, Vice President of Operations for UK & North America and General Manager at Pan Pacific London, and Garreth Walsh, General Manager of Kimpton Fitzroy London.
The interior design judging panel was headed up by Barbara Bischoff, NEWH UK Scholarship Director, who was joined by Arun Rana from Accor Hotels, Mohammed Mostakin from Studio Lost, Emma Kennedy from Space magazine, Kristian Piolet from Gessi, Maria Esquivel from Six Senses, and Chrissie Granger from Indigo Art and NEWH UK.
To date the NEWH Inc has awarded over $9million in scholarships, with over £60,000 in the UK alone. None of this would be possible without our generous sponsors. Our thanks go to Dornbracht, Cruise Ship Interiors, Lutron and Hypnos Beds.
Craig Johnstone, Sales and Marketing Director at Dornbracht said: “Supporting NEWH is a proud moment for us. As a business we thrive on innovation and looking forward in terms of function and design. The Team at CSI added: “At Cruise Ship Interiors, we are committed to fostering the growth of the hospitality design community by actively supporting the education and development of new and emerging designers. For this reason, we are very proud to be a long-standing contributor to NEWH’s scholarship programme.”
