East London’s latest budget boutique property, Qbic Hotel London City, has launched a £1 room sale, with all proceeds going to two of its partner charities, Bikeworks and Food Cycle. Over a period of three months – from 15th December until 15th March next year – five rooms will be available every day at the bargain price of £1.
Guests lucky enough to secure a £1 room will be able to make their donation upon check-in, when they can choose the charity they wish to support.
Bikeworks aims to change lives through cycling. This is achieved through community programmes that encourage bicycle reuse, alongside training to improve the employability of disadvantaged people.
Through volunteer-powered community cafes, hubs and campaigning, Food Cycle creates nutritious meals for people at risk of food poverty and social isolation. The charity relies on volunteers, surplus food and spare kitchen spaces.
As part of its wider partnership with both charities, Qbic Hotel London City will offer guests bike tours of the local vicinity and pop-up food stations in the hotel lobby.
Currently in its soft opening phase, Qbic Hotel London City will officially launch on 12th November. Normal rates will be from £59 per room per night, including breakfast and high-speed WiFi.
To be in with a chance of booking a £1 room, readers should sign up for the Qbic e-newsletter via the website or connect through the Qbic Facebook and Twitter pages. The release of the £1 rooms will be announced through these channels next month.
