Stonehill Taylor has revamped Renaissance Orlando Resort and Spa through a dynamic transformation that unifies all spaces and provides a refresh intertwined with the vibrant, tropical essence of Florida. Both the public spaces and guest rooms have been transformed, breathing new life into the hotel. Rooted in the tropical modernism architectural movement, the overarching designs are inspired by the local citrus groves of Orlando and the hotel’s location in the heart of Florida.
The lobby serves as the centrepiece of this transformation, embracing a tropical theme with botanical touches and colour tones that reflect the Florida landscape. Guests are greeted by an earthy light fixture, eclectic art, vibrant colours, wood wall coverings, and chic furniture, all contributing to a welcoming and playful environment.
Stonehill Taylor thoughtfully refreshed the guest rooms to move away from dark contrasts, embracing warm and inviting elements that align with the overall theme of discovery. Unique design features, such as small metal bird figurines native to the area and ceiling designs emulating a sun canopy, add moments of surprise and delight. Woven textures, warm woods, and citrus-inspired pops of yellow create a cohesive connection throughout the hotel.
The hotel’s redesign extended to updating the corridors and elevator landings with new carpeting, signage, and lighting fixtures. These spaces became more than just transitional spaces, where the strategic design choices create a cohesive flow, ensuring that every step through the building feels connected.
The pool bar underwent a significant transformation to unify its design with the lobby’s tropical theme, featuring new barstools, geometric palm-inspired tiles, and hanging ferns, contributing to a lively and visually appealing pool pavilion.
