Room Mate Hotels has announced the opening of its fifth hotel in Madrid and 27th property worldwide – Room Mate Alba.
Housed within an opulent period property in the Letras neighbourhood, Room Mate Alba has been designed by interior designer and antiquarian, Lorenzo Castillo.
As well as 80 elegant guest rooms, the hotel also offers a peaceful inner courtyard and two meeting rooms.
“It’s been more than 12 years since we last opened a new hotel in Madrid,” says Kike Sarasola, CEO and Founder of Room Mate Hotels. “I’m particularly excited about this one because the Letras neighbourhood is one of my favourite areas of the city. Working with my good friend Lorenzo Castillo is always a pleasure, and I’m sure that everybody’s going to love Room Mate Alba”.
Lorenzo Castillo adds: “I wanted to respect the original aristocratic feel of the building, but also incorporate a touch of exoticism, a style that was also prevalent at the time, even if the only traces of it in Spain were found in royal palaces or in the stately homes of the nobility closest to the King. Room Mate Alba is a veritable work of art and I’m delighted to continue working with Room Mate.”
