UK leisure property agency, Shelley Sandzer, has acted on behalf of San Carlo restaurant group to secure a 6000 square foot site for its new Italian-inspired restaurant, Fumo.
Situated on St Martin’s Lane in Covent Garden, Fumo is slated to open in early September, and will follow on from San Carlo’s other successful London restaurants – Signor Sassi on Knightsbridge Green and Cicchetti in Piccadilly.
With 130 covers, the new restaurant will offer all day dining focused on small plates or cicchetti made using seasonal ingredients, with many sourced from produce markets in Milan. Fumo will be operated by 15 Italian chefs guided by San Carlo executive chefs Filippo Pagani and Franco Bellamusto, as well as Chef Consigliere, Aldo Zilli.
“This site struck us as being perfect for San Carlo’s expansion plans, located in an area with high footfall throughout the day that will also benefit from the expected growth in the nighttime economy following the tube network running 24 hours,” says Nick Weir, joint managing partner at Shelley Sandzer. “Shelley Sandzer’s ability to procure these kind of prime sites for our clients puts us at the forefront of leasing within the leisure property industry.”
