SB Architects, an award-winning international architecture firm that is part of Egis Group and renowned for creating spaces that capture the history, culture, and context of each location, is pleased to announce the opening of an office in Dallas, where the growing firm has worked on an impressive roster of hospitality-focused projects and has new developments in the pipeline. Located in Dallas’ Central Business District, SB Architects’ new space will be overseen by Dallas-native, Regan Holton, Vice President.
The Dallas office opening highlights the company’s commitment and optimism for the Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) region, as opportunities for innovation and growth abound highlighted by the fast-growing population and business-friendly climate, which is currently home to 22 Fortune 500 Companies, and the only region in the U.S. to host three Fortune 10 Companies.
“The Dallas and the Fort Worth metroplex is the perfect place for SB Architects to expand its footprint and we’re thrilled to announce our new office,” said Bruce Wright, Senior Vice President and Principal at SB Architects. “With an active local portfolio and a marquee set of clients in Texas, this office expansion is the natural next step for our firm. We understand the importance of in-person collaboration and immersion in the local context. Establishing an office in Dallas builds on our ability to connect in person with our clients and enhances our capability to support our team in this important region of the country.”
SB Architects’ current projects in the area have been conceived with the firm’s signature site-specific design, highlighting key aspects of Texas and the Midwest. One of the most prominent recent projects in the region is Omni PGA Frisco Resort in Frisco, TX, a mixed-use development slated for completion in Spring 2023. Set to be the home of the new PGA Headquarters, the new 510-key resort will redefine Texas Modern architecture and create a sought-after destination for golf enthusiasts and those looking for an amenities-driven retreat. Designed as a long, linear resort – emulating Texas ranch house style and incorporating a lobby dubbed “The Living Room” in a nod to Southern hospitality – the resort hugs the natural contours of the site and is positioned to focus on the expansive views of the golf course. Adjacent to the Omni PGA Frisco Resort, SB is also working on The LINK, a 240-acre mixed-use district. Inspired by the pedestrian promenade that connects the two developments through an expansive green space network, the resort-style development will include a mix of Class A office, destination retail, luxury residential, dynamic entertainment, boutique hospitality, and sports-focused wellness uses. Additionally, SB Architects is working on numerous high-profile projects, with great clients and collaborative partners, that will become benchmark hospitality destinations in the region.
“This region is thriving with innovation – something that I’ve experienced first-hand as a Dallas resident,” said Regan Holton, Vice President at SB Architects. “From the moment we began working on our first projects in Dallas, it became clear that there was a significant synergy between our way of work and the people-focused approach to business in the region. We’re thrilled to continue building our practice here, focused on site-specific design.”
Having recently celebrated its 62nd anniversary, SB Architects, part of Egis Group, has established an international reputation for design solutions shaped by the subtleties of the site. The firm has extended its leadership in hospitality, residential, and mixed-use in thirty countries and across four continents, with a collaborative culture and dynamic team of passionate individuals driving the firm’s legacy and ongoing evolution. Since its beginnings in custom residential in 1960, SB Architects has prioritized staying true to the site and creating a strong sense of place that resonates with visitors, guests, and residents on an emotional level. As it continues strategic expansion and its portfolio reflects even greater geographic diversity, the firm will leverage its entrepreneurial spirit and architectural craft to thoughtfully connect people to each other and to iconic experiences of a signature place.
SB Architects’ site-specific, hyper-localised design has resulted in legacy projects such as Calistoga Ranch, an Auberge Resort that immerses guests in the natural rhythms and solace of nature; Santana Row, a mixed-use project that fosters discovery and a meaningful sense of community in San Jose; and Fisher Island, an exclusive island resort community that was honored with an AIA Miami Test of Time Award and has enlisted SB Architects as its primary designer for over 39 years.
