SB Architects is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Albert as Director of Architecture, London. Albert will help lead the firm’s presence in London as the firm continues to build its global design practice in Europe and the Middle East. Albert’s experience extends through the Middle East, Europe, Africa, India and Asia Pacific. Having been based in London, Honolulu, and Bangkok, Albert contributes a wealth of international design inspiration and experience.

SB Architects’ began working in Europe more than 20 years ago when it helped with the design of the Anassa Hotel & Spa, a luxury resort in the small town of Polis on the northwest end of Cyprus. Most recently, the firm completed the AMARA Hotel in Cyprus, a five-star resort set on a beachfront outside the seaside town of Limassol, and has just been appointed to design the new Grand Hyatt in Limassol, which will be the Hyatt brand’s first hotel in Cyprus. SB Architects also designed the large-scale master plan for Azalea at Jardinana, modern hillside apartments and, villas with stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea in Costa Del Sol, Spain.
In his new role, Albert will lead projects from concept through detailed design. A seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in the architecture and design industries, Albert is renowned for leading project teams with a clear vision and for regularly exceeding clients’ expectations. Since joining SB Architects, Albert has already led the development of the master plan for a new waterfront residential development in Vietnam.
Prior to joining SB Architects, Albert was Director of Architecture at BLINK Design Group in Bangkok. Before that, Albert spent much of his career as Vice President and Senior Partner at WATG in London and Honolulu. Albert’s projects have won multiple awards, including The European Hotel Design Award, “Tomorrow’s Hotel,” Re-Inhabit; the AIA Honolulu Award of Merit for Glade One Clubhouse, India; and CNN Travel’s Top Luxury Travel Offering of 2017 for Laucala Island, Fiji.
Albert graduated with a diploma in architecture from Oxford Brooks University, and is a RIBA Accredited Professional.
