Signbox received a double recognition at the inaugural BSGA British Sign Awards in October, picking up the ‘The Innovation Award 2014’ and receiving a nomination for ‘Wide Format Project of The Year 2014’. These accolades demonstrate the breadth and diversity of the signage specialist’s products and services.
Signbox won The Innovation Award for its pioneering stair-climbing programme with StepJockey, an exciting health initiative that uses Signbox Smart Signs with NFC (Near Field Communications) in the workplace. The system prominently displays calorie burn and uses NFC to allow employees to record and gamify their stair climbs by tapping the signs with their phone. The award underlines the importance of the company’s work with established partners such as StepJockey to push the boundaries of the sign and graphic market.
Meanwhile the company’s work on the office fit-out of investment firm Invesco – in conjunction with interior designers RAW Unlimited – was ‘highly commended’ in the Wide Format Project of Year category. Signbox printed and installed a vast range of specially commissioned images of London scenes, including a 30m2 supergraphic, at Invesco’s London office.
The British Sign Awards was created by the British Sign and Graphic Association (BSGA) – the leading trade organisation for the sign and graphics industry – to recognise and celebrate the outstanding work of a ‘dynamic, creative and multi-disciplined industry’.
“We were absolutely delighted to win the award and nomination,” says Mark Bartlett, Managing Director, Signbox. “It was fantastic turnout by the sign and graphic industry. It’s a vibrant and forward-thinking community, and this was reflected in the quality of the work that was on show and commended at the event. The accolades that we received pay great testament to how far our company has come over the last thirty years. We’re constantly striving to create innovative, eye-catching signage solutions and products that help our clients stand out. This recognition of our endeavours gives us the confidence to emulate this year’s success and push on for an even more successful year in 2015.”
