The Park Hotels, a leading brand of luxury boutique hotels in India, has announced the launch of its four-star hotel brand, Zone by The Park, across the subcontinent as part of its expansion plan.
The line is overseen by London-based designer, Project Orange, which will work in conjunction with Priya Paul, chairperson of The Park Hotels. Zone by The Park properties will be priced at the £50-70 mark, and will bring a new level of design-forward hotels to the mid-market Indian hotel sector.
The hotels will be situated in India’s largest cities, as well as in lesser known destinations. There are currently four hotels in the pipeline – in Delhi, Raipur, Dehradun and Coimbatore.
The hotels’ design seeks to establish a connection between the traveller and the location by creating a contemporary collage of the country and its traditions. The public areas have been inspired by a traditional market bazaar, a place where people meet and engage in a friendly and informal atmosphere.
“Though different from The Park, we wanted to create a brand that would channel its inimitable spirit,” Priya says. “A new brand with a new vision for the global citizen.”
Vijay Dewan, MD at Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels, adds: “Zone by The Park will cater to the gap in the Indian hotel market for the burgeoning Indian middle class and discerning international traveller looking for more affordable travel.”
