A new kind of hotel, THE RO, is set to open this July popular tourist destination, Bowness-on-Windermere.
Overlooking the breathtaking Lake Windermere, this 87-key property has undergone a multi million pound refurbishment, which has seen it transformed from its previous guise as The Hydro Hotel.
The new hotel will be informal and relaxed, but will deliver a warm lakes welcome. The 87 rooms feature eight different categories, from cosy to the stunning Ro Suite with lake views. All rooms have been completely renovated and feature clean lines, artistic decor and home from home comforts.
Challenging the formal, all day dining will be available in dining area, Lacu at The Ro.
The cuisine will be local, honest, comfort food; sourced responsibly, seasonally and, where possible locally, but always British.
APM Design Ltd and architect Mason Gillibrand reconfigured the internal space and main entrance while respecting and showcasing the original features of the building. The design takes inspiration from the lake and surrounding countryside with cool blues and turquoises complemented with accents of oranges, natural stone and traditional grey slate.
In addition to the rooms and dining the hotel’s conference and meeting rooms, have also been given an overhaul. The six new spaces can cater for events from 6 to 200.
The significant refurbishment has been undertaken by investment group, Lake Merritt Hospitality. The hotel will be managed by UK management company 7 Hospitality Management.
