“The country’s rich history and culture blend beautifully with The St. Regis Astana, whose design, services, and culinary offerings perfectly combine the rituals and traditions of St. Regis with those of Kazakhstan,” comment Lisa Holladay, Global Brand Leader, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts.
“Astana is a vibrant destination that continues to grow in popularity and we look forward to offering a truly luxurious experience to the growing ranks of business and leisure travelers visiting the capital city.”
Ideally situated inside Astana’s Central Park, The St. Regis Astana offers a serene escape from the bustling downtown. Guests are in close proximity to landmarks including the Bayterek Tower and Independence Square, as well as the Khan Shatyr Entertainment Center, Astana Opera and foreign embassies.
Created by the award-winning WATG and Wimberly Interiors, the hotel’s design takes inspiration from the horsemanship and nomadic culture of Kazakhstan, providing guests with a link to the country’s ancient past.
A vision of contemporary living, guests are greeted by a courtyard layout inspired by that of an indigenous yurt. Set above the ground level, the courtyard connects the hotel, hotel residences, retail center and offices.
The avant-garde interior combines modern and neo-classical elements with over 400 pieces of contemporary art created by both local and international artists. Catching the eye of visitors, a captivating hallmark mural found in The St. Regis Bar depicts the golden Samruk, a Phoenix-like bird, which is an important part of Kazakh mythology.
Since the opening of the flagship hotel, The St. Regis New York, a hand painted mural has been at the centerpiece of all St. Regis Bars, providing guests with a captivating visual that pays homage to the rich history of the destination.
