WATG, one of the world’s leading travel and tourism design firms, has appointed Bryan Algeo AIA, as Chairman of its Board of Directors.
Algeo joined WATG in 1997 and is a Senior Vice President, Architect and Master Planner in the firm’s Los Angeles, California office. Throughout his 35-year career, Algeo has designed projects in over 20 countries including most recently the master plan for The Red Sea Project – the world’s most ambitious regenerative tourism destination – located along Saudi Arabia’s west coast.
Algeo has served on the WATG Board of Directors since 2019 and as Chairman will work closely with David Moore, President + CEO, to steer the firm’s strategy over the next several years. Algeo replaces Moore as Chairman who held the role from 2018 and is stepping down following his appointment as President + CEO.
Commenting on his appointment, Algeo said: “I am honoured to assume the Chairman position. And cognizant that our global business community has a challenging recovery road ahead of us. Our priorities are resolute – delivering exceptional design solutions for our clients and the well-being of our team.”
Moore commented: “Over the last several years on the Board, Bryan has brought a tremendous energy, optimism and creativity to our group. As Chairman, he brings Board experience along with an informed understanding of our business, our culture and the global economy.”
Algeo’s design philosophy is renowned for its holistic approach with a focus on hospitality and guest experience, and he has brought this expertise to urban mixed-use, residential, resort and large-scale tourism projects.
