Worplesdon Place near Guildford is set top re-open on March 17th following an ambitious £1,000,000 renovation project, undertaken by new owners, Redcomb Pubs Ltd.
The 19th century country manor house was purchased by the pub operator in September 2015, after many years as a mid-range small hotel under mass market brand owners such as Beefeater, Premier Inn and Bespoke Hotels. Now, Worplesdon Place has been stylishly and sympathetically re-designed to enhance the character of the original building and the striking surroundings in which it is set.
The new-look venue incorporates an elegant family friendly dining area, rustic and retro bar area and an appealing al fresco terraced dining area, perfect for leisurely lunches and warm summer eves.
The venue also incorporates 29 updated and individually designed boutique en-suite bedrooms, including bridal suite, luxury and mid-range bedrooms and a ground floor fully accessible bedroom.
The new menu developed and delivered for the site by experienced Group Head Chef, Chris Spencer, features a medley of traditional pub classics made with prime locally sourced ingredients, a flame grilled rotisserie section, stone baked pizzas, and for the more adventurous, a seasonal specials menu catered to today’s more discerning diner.
“We are delighted to re-launch this stunning venue back into the local community, and committed to delivering a country pub that continues to meet and exceed our guests’ expectations,” says Dan Shotton, Managing Director of Redcomb Pubs Ltd.
“We’ve developed a strong business across the Redcomb Pubs portfolio that centres on delivering simple, seasonal, freshly cooked food at sensible prices, an interesting range of wines and beers, top notch hospitality and a friendly relaxed environment.
When redeveloping Worplesdon Place these were the very fundamentals that we hinged the business on, and we are now excited to see our efforts and investment come into fruition through the creation of a fabulous country pub, individually styled and focussed on serving both the local population and those from further afield.”
